Welcome to Christian Parenting Source

Christian Parenting Source (CPS) wants to support your family as you ride the often turbulent waves called life.

If you are desperately seeking solutions, friendship, solitude, and an occasional chuckle, then you've come to the right place. This site is your virtual parent survival kit. It's chock full of practical advice, tips, articles, lessons, recipes, inspirational family poems and quotes, book reviews, and much more.

Undoubtedly the parenting ride can get a little bumpy. Hang on!

How did the idea for CPS evolve? Well, let me answer by first asking a question. In your quest to be the "perfect parent" are your days too short, your to-do list too long, your energy flagging, and your patience going, going, almost gone? If you answered with a great big, "Duh!," you are not alone.

I've been there, too! Oh, so many times!  Do you ever wish someone, anyone, would notice your frustration (dare I say desperation) and toss you a life preserver? Yeah, me too!

One of my very favorite verses at times like these is Psalm 46:1 which says, "God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble." When I go to Him with my troubles and fears, I find solace and peace.

Still, don't you also crave friends who understand what you're going through? Christian fellowship is such an important aspect of a daily walk with God. The purpose of Christian Parenting Source is to be that support network, not replacing but supplementing the other positive influences in your life.

Enjoying a hike in the woods!

There is no job more rewarding than parenting. At the same time, there are few tasks as challenging. And, if you've been a parent very long, you know how exhausting striving to be SuperMom (or Dad) can be.

As a Christian parent myself, I know all too well the challenges we're facing these days. My name is Linda Wakefield Kelley. I'm a Christian wife and mom to three incredible adult children. I am the publisher and author here at CPS. If you'd like to know more about me or this website, use the about button on the left nav bar.

In no way have I been a perfect parent. Not sure that's possible, even with God's help! But, I have learned a few lessons along the way. Both from my successes and failures. In sharing them, I hope you are encouraged and inspired!

What scenario are you up against? Perhaps you're a new mother, coping with a two-year-old, or a teenager, or sending an adult child off to college.

Yes, I've experienced all of those stages too . . . as well as deciding to home school our three children for seven years.

Talk about putting those Christian parenting skills to the test!

Perhaps you are not homeschooling, but want to augment your child's private or public school education.

Or, maybe you desire general parenting tips, encouragement, recipes . . . You can find those here as well.

It is my hope that this site will be a resource for all parents to turn to for inspiration and refuge.

Fix yourself a steaming cup of coffee or tea, close the door, and spend an hour (okay, maybe all you can manage is ten minutes) checking out the many resources on these pages.

The goal is to relieve your stress, lighten the load, and polish those Christian parenting skills.

I am honored you stopped by because I know first-hand that your time is precious!

Please come by again soon,
