Pre-teen Christian Music Reviews

by Sarah Kelley
Here are a few pre-teen Christian music reviews you might enjoy. Sarah began this page when she was in the 5th grade (age 10). Here is how she described her interests at that time, "I love sports. I'm a diver and on the Tumbling and Trampoline team. I love hanging out with my friends, going to church, and listening to music."
She is older now, but still loves sports, church, hanging out with friends--and music. Linda Wakefield Kelley has taken over much of the duties of this page as Sarah has gotten quite busy. However, she does make contributions when she can. We hope you enjoy our reviews and will visit often.
My favorite band is the Newsboys. The CD I like is Shine – The Hits (released in 2000). My favorite songs on the CD are Take Me to Your Leader and Breakfast. They rock!
Some people in this band are from Australia. I think that is so cool. The members of the band are Peter Furler (lead singer, sometimes drums, sometimes guitar), Duncan Phillips (drums), Phil Joel (bass and singer), Jeff Frankenstein (keyboards), and Bryan Olesen (guitar). Bryan Olesen was not with the band when they made the Shine – The Hits CD. At that time Jody Davis was the guitarist. Jody left the band to stay home with his family and his sick little girl, Bethany.
The Newsboys was one of the many bands my family met on the K-LOVE cruise we went on in January, 2005. In fact, we ran into Phil Joel and his wife when we were touring the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. Phil Joel’s wife is pretty and very nice. I really enjoyed the Newsboys concert on the cruise. And, I love this CD. To find out more about the newsboys go to www.newsboys.com.
