Free Homeschool Aides

Hunting for free homeschool aides? Schools employ Teacher's Aides to fulfill a variety of needs. That is the purpose of this page.

We want to assist you and thereby make your job easier by providing a helping hand in many areas. Need a worksheet to use for Spelling? Are you always looking for organizational tools? This space will work as a bulletin board for posting worksheets, ebooks, tips, and other resources that might prove to be helpful in your homeschool classroom. Check back often as new ones will be posted regularly.

Be sure to collect this free e-book filled

It is important to train your children to stay organized. This is one area many homeschoolers have trouble because they can just ask Mom if they have questions about their assignments. A better idea is to have them write their daily assignments on a planner page. This teaches them organization and time management as they can plan ahead to complete their work in a timely manner. We use the following Home School Planner Page to record weekly assignments.

A great book to support your Middle/High School Civil War studies is Lynn Austin's Candle in the Darkness (read my review here). I've developed a scavenger hunt, which corresponds with the book. Here's how it works. Print out a copy of the Scavenger Hunt (obtained by clicking the link below). Then have your student fill out the form as he/she reads. For example, the first term is Nat Turner. He is mentioned on pages 68 and 76 in the book. His historical significance is he was a slave who led a rebellion that ended in violence. This led many (northerners especially) to fear freeing slaves would lead to more violence. The date of the rebellion was 1831. Have your students continue filling in the scavenger hunt until they've finished reading the book. Perhaps you could offer a bonus prize for finding additional Civil War terms in the book as well. Grab your free Civil War Scavenger Hunt by clicking here.
