Arts & Craft Supplies Online
On any given day you will find homeschool art curriculum supplies for the following on-going projects strewn about our basement: scrapbooking, doll house building/redecorating, model train layouts, bookmaking, and more.
Here are some of our favorite art and craft kits/supplies:
- ART SUPPLIES Dick Blick has lots of free art lesson plans. They also offer great prices on all your art supply needs and a Free 480-page Art Supply Catalog!

- YARN/KNITTING PROJECTS Would you like to learn a simpler way to knit? With a round knitting loom, even children can knit many projects. Check out the fun patterns and creative knitting loom at The Loom Room.
- STAMPING SUPPLIES We love to make our own greeting cards and have acquired lots of stamping supplies to help us. A good starter set is the Deluxe Stamp Set by Melissa & Doug.

Other homeschool art curriculum creative kits available at Amazon.com are: Groovy Ceramic Lamp, Design Your Own Soccer Ball, Tiffany Style Stained Glass Craft, and My Paper Craft Case.
A homeschool art curriculum can be fun and exciting for the children and the teachers.
- MAGNETIX If you haven't tried Magnetix yet, you’re kids are missing hours of fun. I bought the small kit first only to buy the 250 piece case a week later. This may not be art on paper, but the creations my children have designed using magnetix are definitely artistic! We love the Magnetix X-treme Combo 250 Piece Case.

Drawing Books
I read aloud to the children every day at noon. They love to grab their sketchbooks and draw while I read. We have a basket full of “How to Draw” books that break down subjects into easy to follow steps.
Here are our favorites:
- Watermill Press put out a great series of How to Draw books. They’re older but you can still buy many of them used from Barnes and Noble. We have How to Draw Cartoon Characters, How to Draw Pets, How to Draw Baby Animals, and How to Draw Zoo Animals.
- I Can Draw Animals, I Can Draw People, and What Shall I draw? All by Ray Gibson (Usborne Books)
- Mark Kistler’s Books are good for drawing 3-D objects. We have Draw Squad.

- Ed Emberley’s Drawing Books are Wonderful! We have Make A World which shows simple steps for drawing over 400 objects.
